This package converts supported PNG/JPG/JPEG image files to WebP using browser canvas APIs. Start with webp-optimizer.html to try the standalone tool locally.

1. Open webp-optimizer.html in a current browser.
2. Choose a test PNG or JPEG.
3. Select a quality value and convert it.
4. Download the WebP and compare appearance and file size.
5. Read README.md and PLATFORM-COMPATIBILITY.md before embedding it into a website.
6. Run the checks in TEST-CHECKLIST.md.

Important: WebP conversion can reduce image transfer size, but some images may become larger. This code does not prove or guarantee a Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, SEO, ranking, traffic, or conversion improvement.
